KU Law School Hooding Ceremony

Spring Tri Loom Weaving class last day

This class was about learning a new weave. I tried out a family Tartan. And my pattern came out pretty darn neat.
We all had fun seeing the new color combinations and we all took time to help each other out. Everyone was so interested in seeing how Lisa's 12 ft was going to turn out. And it was beatuiful!

Tamara brought Miss Roxanne to help us fringe. By the way, it was FREEZing cold when we started the day, and perfect by the end.

I LOVE this color combination. I believe that I will try this next.

Miss Chelsie was able to start, and finish another project. She did a 6 ft tri in one day. Darn fast kid! She wants to enter this in the state fair.

Roxanne was so helpful and I am sure she has almost taken over Tamara's loom at home.

After class, Tamara went home and kept working. She figured out how to tie off on the end to keep the knots and tails hidden. Yummy!
I added fringe on the top to hide my tails and knots. My Family Tartan holds a special meaning to me and I will always remember our group of gals. We have started a Weaving guild and plan on another class in the Fall.
Miss Chelsie and I will be at Ren Fest this Fall showing off Drop Spinning and Weaving.

Thanks Robyn, Donna, Carla and Delight
our instructors!

Chelsie has a Ren Fest Gig this Fall

Miss Chelsie has been invited to work at Ren Fest this Fall with our Weaving Guild. This is pretty exciting. She will demo her drop spinning and maybe some
tri loom weaving too.

So Miss Chelsie and I need to come up with some costumes.
Any suggestions?

I think I will be a Winch!

Renters for awhile longer instead

Looks like that house will not work out for us after all. We are Happy Little Renters instead.
Things happen for a reason, hope I find that reason out soon.
Thanks for supporting us and our quest.

So, Planning Cherry tomato's, herbs, and I will start my sunflowers this week too.
I am so looking forward to my butterflies, birds, and hummingbirds~ my little friends!

Spring Tri Loom Weaving class

Starting my project...My Family Tartan
The colors look a lot better outside. Light green is me, Dark green is Chelsie, and the Light Blue is Pete. I pulled in the brown because it looked earthy and we all have brown hair. :)

My Project that I was working on. I will be completing it next week.

Tamara was listening to her I-pod and giggled every now and then while she worked.

Chelsie attended the class and this is her first Plad. She had the brightest project out there.
Miss Donna and Mr Steve gave her the 4 ft loom for attending the class and as her Birthday project. Miss Donna invited Chelsie to join her at the Ren Fest this Fall and show off her spinning and Weaving.
I was having a "Proud Mom" moment.
Chelsie was so involved with her project and was a busy little bee.
So much concentration...

This is Donna, our instructor. She was showing Chelsie all the things she could do with her new shawl.
We crocheted and edge on the top to hide the top strands and Chelsie started her matching bag tonight. She is almost 1/2 way thru it already.
I think I should buy her a tri pod of her own since she is taking mine over already.
We will post more pictures of our class next Saturday.
