The mint is taking over the corner. The Butterfly bushes are waist high and the roses are in full bloom. My Weeping Mulberry is taller and wider and shaping up nicely. I planted it 5 years ago. Time flys when your garden grows.

My pups like to look out and watch the kids play.

Soon the sunflowers and mixed wild flowers will sprout up and the lily's will bloom. That means more pic's to Show off soon...

From my garden

Everything in this vase is from my yard.
These Iris's were given to me a couple of years ago by Judy Harter. This is the first year they have bloomed. The red roses came from a massive rose bush in my back yard by my deck.

The yellow Iris's are from my old townhome down the path. I was showin' off my vase when Dee said you need some of your yellow Iris's. The yellow ones were planted back in 1997. They came from Pete's Grandma Grace's farm. Every where I move I bring a bunch with me and keep them growing. The funny story behind them is that they were purple at the farm and every year they grow in a different color.

I am going to Google the name of this Iris tomorrow. It is not as fragrant as the others but is incredible.

They smell so wonderful!

This is my living room window where we spend hours looking at the birds, squirrels, chipmunks, butterflies and humming birds.

So far this year I have a pair of yellow finches and a green finch that love the sock feeder. I WILL GET PICTURES of the little devil's if it takes all summer to do it!!!

As soon as the butterfly bushes start blooming in the front, the butterflies and humming birds will come. They normally venture in mid June. Just a couple of weeks till I will

It is my goal to have at least one picture published in Birds and Blooms magazine by next year!

A finished W.I.P

I finished my cotton bath goodies that were made with "Cotton I LOVE THIS YARN".

Toilet tank buddy- started as a rug and I was off on the edges so I stopped there. (woops)

Corner Stitch hand towel too.

I will make a bath rug and more hand towels, but I love how this is turning out. You should see the bathroom with my Tweety Bird stuff. I will finish it soon and show off!

Police called for noise complaint and we were off the hook because it was before 10pm-nee ner nee ner! Yet another first!

Hit on by a Body Builder named Steve-flattering yet, NO NO, I am married for 15 years. BIG EGO Boost for Dana. Not a first, but a first in a long time. Well, I have never had a body builder hit on me before.

Any way to sum up the evening we ate wonderful food, had awesome company, played and laughed the night away...Yet Dana still missed her family something aweful.

Pete called right before Heather had her seizure and told me he bought me a paddle boat. I just hope that I will be able to go to the lake house soon with my family and my boys.

Hookinosis

HOOKINOSIS

This disease affects women of all ages, races and religions. However, it has now started to afflict men as well. The most distressing part of having one of your loved ones catch Hookinosis, is that there is no know cure. Recently a group of men have formed the S.P.C.W. (Society of Prevention of Crocheting by Women) and have started a fund drive in hopes that, with more research, a cure may be found within the next few years.

Hookinosis has just recently come to the attention of the medical profession, since it has always been considered a hobby, but after some extensive testing, it has been found that women who crochet go through actual withdrawal symptoms, when their yarn supply has been cut off.Some of these symptoms are:

1. Irritability.

2. Nervousness.

3. Extreme craving for yarn and crochet hooks.

4. Inability to concentrate.

Since I am listing some of the withdrawal symptoms, I may as well make a list of symptoms to watch for if you feel your loved one may be catching Hookinosis:

1. Yarn and crochet hooks lying all over.

2. Sleeps with yarn under her pillow.

3. Crochets matching booties for your cat and dog.

4. Gets extremely agitated if her yarn supply runs low.

If you feel your loved one fits any of these symptoms listed above, try to get her to join Yarnaholics Anonymous. Even tho there is no cure as yet, the organization may be able to help your family cope better with this affliction.

Those of you who have not yet been stricken with this disease, please keep your family safe. Crocheting is very contagious, and the best way to prevent it's ravages is to keep your females completely away from yarn, thread and crochet hooks or anyone who already has Hookinosis.
