The Butterfly in 2009

Did you Know?

The Butterfly is considered a symbol of hope, freedom and renewal.

The gift of a hand-crafted butterfly is a beautiful expression of caring for someone who is suffering from illness, grief, or abuse.~Taken from Crochet! Jan 2009 issue

Well, I would like to just leave it as an expression of caring.

For the New Year, my symbol of renewal will be the butterfly. This is a good synopsis of me, and has been since 2006. The past couple of years have been new and everchanging. I have been on new ground and with this growing.

In 2009:
I will work on becoming more healthy, and not so tired and worn.
You will see my attitude improving, I will be moving away from all of the negativity.
I will be planning a get away for my hubby and myself, just the two of us!
Our 15 th year of marriage will be a celebration of US.

Our investments will grow in heart and wealth. Our donation of time and heart will increase. Our jobs will challenge us, educate us, and with this we will grow!

This year is not about the money, but the improving of LIFE.

We will be STRONGER, EDUCATED, LOVED and HAPPY for 2009! Join us.

Christmas Jokes

Just some really cute cartoons I got in an email that
I find bad humor in. Enjoy!

I have 2 little dogs that I am sure feel the same way. Shame that I don't make them snow pants, but since they don't have thumbs, then they would not be able to unzip the fly! tee hee hee

Visits by family members

Merry Christmas to you too!

Today we had a little lunch with the small group of people that work in my building. We exchanged holiday plans, wishes and gifts. Not to long ago I must have mentioned some of my favorites that my aunt made and I miss now that she has passed because I was "visited" by her today. I actually think that my aunts, grandma and mom my have been saying Hi and Merry Christmas. Reason being, my gifts from co-workers. Beverly brought us Bourbon balls~Aunt Peg made rum balls for New Years Eve card night every year while may grandma and aunts were around. Vera brought me homemade spinach balls~which I had mentioned to Vera that my aunt Peg made them every holiday season, these were my mom and my favorite.

Funny story to go with the spinach balls. Aunt Peg made them a few years ago and gave my mom some to bring home knowing we loved them dearly. Mom and I were excited to defrost them and have at it...well, they must have been made the year before and frozen cause they were NASTY! We laughed and laughed about how age has it's effect on people. Tee hee hee.

So a couple of the gals I work with are psychic. So I truly believe that this was not a coincidence and that family really did stop in to wish me a good holiday.

Right back atcha! Love you guys too!

Chiefs and Chargers game

Not the game to brag on, but my hubby won tickets at work on Friday to the Chief's and Chargers game on 12-14-08. It was 21 degrees not to mention the wind chill. But I was the SUPER wife and went with hubby to the crappy Chiefs game. See us... Burr Chill.

Yep. 14 rows from the field goal! Great place to take pictures! GO 900 catches!

We were winning! Playing pretty good too!.....

Go Thigpen!

So we left 5 minutes till the end of the game. Wind was cutting right thru us...

In the car on the way home. Cheifs were winning...then 2 touchdowns by Chargers and then we kicked a bad-bad kick 32 seconds left in the game. Damn wind! 22-21 Chargers.

All I have to say is they were winning when we left the game, so it is our fault the lost. (Right, Tamara?!)

Happy 36th Birthday, Pete!
